East Anglia has some excellent heathland, one of my favourite patches being Dunwich Heath on the Suffolk coast.  There is also prime heathland at the neighbouring RSPB reserve of Minsmere.  Heathland is rich insect habitat because insects love its heat-retaining, well-drained sandy soils.
